Hey.

Welcome to "Of the City". What's this all about? Basically it about discussing international urban culture, with a focus on electronic music and it history and development. I live in Chicago, so I have a heavy love for classic Acid House as well as most other forms of electronic music.

In addition, I lived in China for several years and have travelled extensively throughout Asia, which has given me exposure to alot of the things that are going on in that region. While alot of people are really on top of recent developments in the European and North American electronic music scene, Asia often go overlooked or unrepresented. I will do what I can to include more of "the East" in my postings, hopefully turning people onto some different artists and broadening frameworks while I am at it.

Lastly, I will also use this blog to discuss my own music production and share some of the projects I have been working on. I record under the name "Municiple" which roughly means (in my mind) "a disciple of the city" or, as this blog is called "of the city". Which city is not important, it is more about "the city" in general.
